Hilt Tatum IV, the president of Panama-based iPoint Capital Partners, is in charge of the firm's investment operations throughout Europe, Asia, South America, and the Caribbean. As the head of Impact Housing Corporation (IHC) Panama, Hilt Tatum IV focuses on developing affordable residential houses in Veraguas Province in Panama.
According to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, affordable housing is where the resident pays 30 percent or less of their gross income on total housing costs, including utilities. In Panama, affordable housing has been a major problem, especially for middle- and low-income households. With this being a problem, families are likely to experience issues relating to poor living conditions, including lack of food security, health care problems, and, generally, lack of social stability. Several organizations are currently trying to address this problem by investing millions of dollars to construct affordable residential estates in Panama. For instance, the Impact Housing Corporation (IHC) plans to invest $250 million in various projects over 10 years to help Panama residents have affordable homes. So far, IHC Panama has completed three major housing projects, including La Reserva De Santiago, Suenos De Santiago, and Suenos De Sona. The La Reserva project, located in the Province of Veraguas, includes 2- and 3-bedroom single-family homes with prices ranging from $92,500 to $103,000. The houses are high-quality and very comfortable, featuring perfect finishes and polished designs.
