An international business leader who lives and works in Panama, Hilt Tatum IV is chief executive officer of both iPoint Capital Partners and the Impact Housing Corporation. As part of his duties with Impact Housing, Hilt Tatum IV oversees the development of affordable housing in Santiago de Veraguas.
In addition to providing low-cost housing solutions in the area, the Impact Housing Corporation touts the many points of interest that Santiago and its surroundings have to offer. One of the destinations highlighted is the Church of San Francisco de la Montana. Located roughly half an hour north of Santiago in the small community of San Francisco, the church has stood since 1727 and has been an official historical monument since 1937. Relatively modest but quaintly beautiful, this structure features nine carved altar-pieces that include an elaborately ornate principal altar composed of ash and cedar. It’s eight side altars depict striking images of Christ’s crucifixion, the Virgin Mary surrounded by saints, and portraits of local historical figures hidden in the faces of cherubs.
